Excitedness. That’s what I saw out of Marvin Bagley, Harry Giles, De’Aaron Fox, our entire summer league roster, our entire regular season roster, our entire organization, the entire city of Sacramento. Our two rising big men, Marvin Bagley and Harry Giles made their Kings’ debuts last night, and I am proud to say that I was in attendance.
The Dunk Heard Round Sacramento
Throughout the first quarter of the Kings and Lakers game, both teams were being carried on the back of anxiousness. Bagley and especially Giles looked giddy with excitement similar to how I probably looked in the stands. Nearly four minutes into the game, all of the pent-up energy and power in Marvin Bagley unleased in a monstrous dunk over Lakers’ rookie, Moritz Wagner. The half-full arena erupted as we saw the future of the Kings congratulate our centerpiece on his first professional bucket.
Following the excitement of the Bagley and Wagner rivalry, each team calmed down a bit and began to play some legitimate basketball. Svi Mykhailiuk and Josh Hart carried the Lakers throughout the game from behind the arc, but in the end, the depth of the Kings’ summer league team prevailed. While wins in summer league don’t matter, we have a lot to be excited for.
Excellent observations, per usual!
